CGNJ is a mother-daughter art duo, founded in 2018 by Nour Jouayed and Céline Gammal. Emerging from contrast, CGNJ blends timeless expression with contemporary art interpretations. Together, these differing perspectives have evolved into a shared visual language defined by movement, feeling, and intention.
At CGNJ, we don’t just decorate rooms; we offer an art curation service that creates complete environments.
Our work is deeply emotional, shaped by calm, nostalgia, and connection. Each collection reflects a moment, feeling, or story—expressed through abstract movement or cultural reinterpretation, always rooted in meaning.
Through thoughtful curation, we introduce artworks that align seamlessly with each space, complementing the interior design and furniture palette in a way that feels effortless, cohesive, and genuinely belongs as the final layer.

NOUR JOUAYED
Born in Syria and raised in Canada, Nour has lived in Egypt for over 30 years. As a self-taught artist, her journey with contemporary art deepened after the 2011 revolution, when painting became a vital form of emotional expression and healing. Nour's work, often featured in art curation services, is celebrated for its fluid, expressive movements—most notably in her “Sea Reunion” series, where abstract forms reflect calm, freedom, and the quiet rhythm of nature. Inspired by the Nile and the Egyptian coast, her art captures stillness, light, and repetition in a deeply timeless way. Nour, along with her daughter, forms a remarkable mother-daughter art duo that continues to inspire through their creative endeavors.
CELINE GAMMAL
Céline, a self-taught artist and designer, has built her creative foundation through studies at GUC and valuable hands-on industry experience. Growing up in Cairo with Syrian-Lebanese roots, her exposure to a vibrant multicultural art scene has deeply influenced her contemporary art style, which is both modern and expressive.
Her work delves into themes of movement, identity, and cultural reinterpretation. In pieces like "Energy in Motion" and "City in Motion," she encapsulates the rhythm, spontaneity, and heartbeat of daily life. Through her signature "Pharodoodle" series, she reinvents Egyptian heritage by transforming hieroglyphic-inspired letters into contemporary, illustrative forms that resonate with both tradition and freshness. This innovative approach makes her a noteworthy figure in the realm of art curation services, showcasing the dynamic relationship of her inspirations and her role as part of the mother-daughter art duo, demonstrating how personal history can shape contemporary expressions.
BIO HIGHLIGHTS
How it all started
CGNJ held its first solo exhibition in March 2020 in collaboration with Al Ismaelia in Cairo. Originally conceived as a physical show, the exhibition was presented virtually due to the global pandemic, yet it achieved remarkable success. This contemporary art exhibition gained international recognition and expanded its audience beyond borders.
This successful event was followed by CGNJ's first collaboration with Art D’Égypte in August 2020, establishing an ongoing relationship with the platform. This collaboration included the EX by Art D’Égypte exhibition at Almaza in June 2021, showcasing the unique works of a mother-daughter art duo, further highlighting their innovative art curation service.
Galleries
In March 2021, CGNJ, a mother daughter art duo, was selected to exhibit at Lamsat Gallery, where it earned 4th place among 40 participants and received accolades from former Assistant Minister of Interior, Major General Tarek Allam.
Shortly after, in April 2021, CGNJ participated in the Urban Exhibition at the Greek Campus in collaboration with Meadhub, further expanding its presence within contemporary art spaces and showcasing its innovative art curation service.
In July 2021, CGNJ collaborated with Cornerstone Development, marking an early step into the intersection of contemporary art and real estate.
Collaborations
Expanding further into interior environments, CGNJ collaborated with Arab World Company for interior design projects in January 2022, followed by Mobilicasa in October 2022. The studio continued to showcase its innovative contemporary art through curated and solo settings, including a solo exhibition by the mother-daughter art duo at Esca Concept Gallery Dining in September 2022. In March 2023, CGNJ signed with an art curation service, marking a significant milestone in its artistic evolution, followed by a collaboration with The Design Show in June 2023.
